Loner (311) was raised using the condor head puppet technique. Once released, she had no problem being in the wild, although she seemed rather shy and often stuck to the fringes of social gatherings. Loner (311) took several years past reaching maturity to pick a mate but eventually paired with Red (242), and successfully raised a chick, Mystery (769). After the untimely death of her first mate, Red (242), she paired with McWay (567) and successfully raised Leonard (937). Unfortunately, McWay (567) died from lead poisoning, but Loner (311) was able able to find another mate in Redwood Son (665). Sadly, Loner (311) passed away as a result of lead poisoning in 2021.
