Helmed by our software architect Tim Huntington, who has decades of experience building software as a service (SaaS) solutions, Ventana Wildlife Society has created a world class set of tools that allows field crews to more easily and more accurately collect and analyze data, informing species management decisions in a more timely and efficient manner, allowing both biologists and managers alike to focus on tasks where their time and energy can be most effective and enjoyable.
Accessible from both remote field locations and back in the office, these tools are currently being utilized by all the organizations in the US managing California condors in the wild. Built on top of a species agnostic foundation, we can tailor the toolset to your needs through a combination of foundational generic tools, re-using tools built for managing California condors where applicable, and by creating custom tools focused on your species' specific needs. Based in the cloud, there's no software to install and no servers to maintain. Users just log in and go, utilizing phones, tablets, and computers, knowing that their data is secure and access is reliable. Vertical Divider

- overall population dashboard that highlights potential issues with individual creatures, allowing team members to quickly decide where their focus should be directed
- easily and efficiently record visual and radio telemetry data out in the field taking advantage of GPS and compass features found in modern phones and tablets
- hourly processing and analyzing of GPS data from creature tags, combined with other geospatial data, to identify patterns that signify types of behavior important to a species and alerting users when that behavior is found
- recording data involved in the handling of individual creatures in real time, out in the field
- a suite of reports allowing users to drill down into their data and view results in custom formats that help inform and expedite decision making
- manage supplies used in the course of managing the wildlife, for example, radio tag inventory management
- different experiences for different types of users, allowing team members as much or as little access to functionality as their role dictates, all managed by administrator users within your own organization
- multiple organizations managing distinct populations of the same species can be supported at the same time, securely walled off from each other's data, with total control over their own data, and with data being stored in a cohesive, uniform format across organizations
- ability to responsibly share data to facilitate collaboration, in a standard format that eliminates the need for data normalization across data sources
