Interested in bringing wildlife conservation topics to your school or community group? We've got you covered! Our biologists and outdoor education instructors are available to provide wildlife presentations (Zoom presentations available) and activities for your classes or groups.
Maybe you want more of a hands-on experience.
We can set up a table with interactive education tools; visitors can handle condor feathers, model eggs, and radio transmitters while conversing with our staff. We are the perfect addition to your Earth Day, environmental, or school event.
We offer presentations for all ages on the California Condor Reintroduction Program - what it is, how VWS is involved and why this work is important - as well as the natural history of this endangered species. Presentations can be virtual, or in person at either at our Big Sur Discovery Center or at nearby venues throughout Monterey County. Our Big Sur Discovery Center is open to the public on weekends throughout the summer months and we offer FREE condor presentations to groups who plan to visit on a weekend between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Otherwise, refer to the fee structure below. Please note that we can only accommodate up to 30 visitors at a time at our Big Sur Discovery Center. Schools and Non-profit organizations with financial resources are asked to pay a nominal fee so that our grants and donations can be reserved for groups that do not have the resources to pay for programming. If you would like to schedule to bring a group to Andrew Molera State Park for a presentation at our Discovery Center: Planning to bring a youth group to Big Sur?
Make VWS a part of your visit! Our Big Sur Discovery Center in Andrew Molera State Park is the perfect starting point for your central coast adventure. Whether you stop by for a presentation before exploring on your own, or want our help planning activities within the park, our educators are available to add something special to your trip. Drop us an email to learn more.
