"Ventana Wildlife Society is leading this effort because we recognize the lack of low-cost, overnight accommodations that exists on the central coast and we have the drive and expertise to the bridge gap between low-income families from local communities to the magnificence of Andrew Molera State Park in Big Sur by providing van transportation, bi-lingual outdoor education and over 30 years of hands-on experience." What if you grew up and never experienced the coast or other places of beauty in the outdoors?
Unfortunately this is the reality for many of our families who often face transportation, economic, or accessibility barriers. With your help, we will construct a Space for Meaningful Outdoor Recreation and Education (SMORE) at Andrew Molera State Park in Big Sur, primarily for youth and family programs.

A California State Coastal Conservancy Grant for $300,000 was awarded in support of the SMORE! See staff recommendation and letters of support. This grant will pay for landscape architectural drawings and engineering, environmental review and permitting, as well as a detailed construction plan.
