VWS works with three different communities to provide monthly on-site Community Outdoor Club Meetings, as well as off-site programs that include transportation. Weekly off-site nature classes for youth occur during the school year while club meetings, single-day filed trips and overnight campouts for multigenerational participants occur year-round.

Programs in Your Community
La Paz Middle School
1300 North Sanborn Road, Salinas, CA Ventana Wildlife Society and our key partner the Bird School Project are focused on providing routine outdoor learning opportunities to the students and families most marginalized in our community. This project, focusing on La Paz Middle School and the surrounding community, sustains the efforts of the Bird School Project's on-campus student-based and nature-based learning experiences for 7th and 8th graders, while adding an off-site, multigenerational and community component with Ventana Wildlife Society. Programs focus on connecting participants to nature through observing and learning about birds and their habitats. Contact Program Coordinator Cece Gutiererez for more information on how to get involved.
