Otter (1104), hatched in the wild by parents Miracle (538) and Nomad (574) in 2021, earned her nickname due to her upbringing in a coastal redwood tree nest. On the way to inspecting this particular nest in Big Sur, our biologists frequently observed sea otters offshore. This connection to the coastal environment inspired the choice of the name "Otter" for Condor (1104), establishing a link between her and another endangered species that share the same stretch of coastal habitat.
