Condor, Muursh (957), was certainly the most energetic, alert and inquisitive bird of his cohort, however, he was also known to have a dark side (Muursh means “to be dark” in Rumsen Tribe language). One might even consider him a troublemaker. Muursh (957) was often seen relentlessly trying to push other condors away from food and his favorite perching spot in the flight pen. It only took one glare from Muursh (957) to know not to get in his way.
Now that he’s integrated fully into the wild central California condor flock, Muursh (957) has learned to better manage his temper and has gained a greater appreciation for the company of other juveniles. He seems to enjoy hanging out with the other condors at Pinnacles National Park the most. Perhaps the Pinnacles sunshine was just what he needed to lighten his disposition!
