#231 (aka Wild 1) is a very fiesty and dominant female. When she shows up, all the other condors part before her. She first paired with #199, and they were the first pair in Big Sur to lay a fertile egg and raise the chick (#477) in the wild. Wild 1 and #199 separated after a few years, and she re-paired with big bad #209. After a few years of not producing a chick, this pair too broke up. #231 now seems to be paired with the studly #219 and we hope that they will be more successful!!
