Patriarch (164) was one of the first five condors released into Big Sur. He traveled far and wide in his lifetime, even exploring the southern Sierra Mountains. He was found dead in Southern California near the condor release site managed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. He never raised any offspring of his own.
