Cathy was born and raised in northern California, but has lived and studied all over the states. She attended University on a soccer scholarship, worked 18 years in retail management, volunteered for the Phoenix Symphony in the early 1990s, and re-established her California roots by being a docent at Point Lobos State Reserve in 1997-2003. In 2004, one year after the birth of her first son, Dylan, Cathy started at Ventana Wildlife Society as our Office Manager. When her second son, Lincoln started Boy Scouts in first grade, she followed her husband Geoff into volunteering. They were both very involved as Scout Leaders in a multitude of roles within the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council and Cub Camp Directors from 2016-2024. Each receiving the Silver Beaver Award, presented by the National Court of Honor for their impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council; Cathy in 2023 and Geoff in 2024. In 2024, they took an opportunity to move to south Florida and Cathy now works remotely supporting the organization in several ways including graphic design, human resources, and bookkeeping.
