We are proud to honor Rumsen Ohlone heritage and its profound connection to the California Condor through an incredible creation by Linda Yamane, a gifted Rumsen Ohlone artist. Using historically accurate materials and traditional artistry, Linda has crafted a stunning basket featuring a California Condor, or “Wassak”, in the Rumsen Ohlone language. Linda’s artwork pays tribute to this specie’s significance in Rumsen Ohlone culture, while recognizing a fallen Big Sur Flock condor, Wassak (968).
