Maya is from Orange, CA where she was very active and found her love for the ocean, specifically orcas. It wasn't until starting her undergrad at CSUMB in Fall 2020 that she was able to start exploring her love of the ocean. Since moving to Monterey, she has focused on building her field experience via internships and volunteering for local nonprofits. In Spring 2025, Maya graduated with a BS in Marine Science and a minor in Environmental Studies. She continues her education as she pursues a MA in Environmental Policy and Management. Maya is passionate about ocean conservation and igniting a love for nature in young learners.
