Kids Making A Difference
Over the years, we have had kids from all over the USA contact us to help fund-raise for condors. With their passion and their creative thinking, they have a freshness that make people want to stop and listen. Here are a few words to help
Meet our heroes:
After receiving a presentation on the California condor at their school from one of our educators, the 5th graders created a stunning mural of a California condor in flight using micro-trash. Micro-trash along our coast is a danger to California condors and other wildlife. The piece was presented to our Discovery Center in Big Sur, where it is on display to the public.
Interactive projects that involve community organizations give students hands on experiences that also expand their minds beyond the classroom. I salute the teachers of Mount Madonna School in their efforts to create such meaningful experiences for their students. They are truly a shining example of what education can be, and I have no doubt that their next project will be just as successful and meaningful for their students.
