Inyust (1317) was hatched on April 25, 2024, by parents Shadow (209) and Minerva (881) in a remote nest location in central California. Biologists tracked this chick by monitoring its parents movements and behavior. Later, a visual confirmation was made when Inyust (1317) fledged and showed-up at the Big Sur condor sanctuary with its parents. This wild-fledged condor's nickname "Inyust" means "Traveler" in the Rumsen Ohlone language. This nickname was given in honor of Traveler (171) who disappeared in 2024, Traveler (171) was the former mate of Inyust (1317)'s father, Shadow (209).
