Pongo (1226) gets his name from the genus of orangutans native to Borneo and Sumatra, which comprises three, critically endangered species. Pongo (1226)’s daily schedule matches that of his primate namesake, as he typically spends his mornings feeding then lounges in a nearby tree for the rest of the day. He is content to stay nearby others from his cohort, and has not shown much interest in travelling far from the release slope.
