Myna (1200) is a persistent bird when it comes time to feed. She holds her own against many of the older, more dominant birds for a spot at the carcass and is never deterred for long whenever she is chased away. She is often the first to be seen on the San Simeon Sanctuary Cam in the morning descending from her perch to eat. We think her favorite foods so far are deer and elk, however she is never disappointed by cow, either.
Myna (1200) is named after the critically endangered black-winged myna, a species endemic to Indonesia. Like her namesake, she is intelligent and social, often vocalizing while feeding in a group and preening with other juveniles.
