VWS Corporate Sponsors
Pacific Gas and Electric Company contributed $75,000 over the last two years in support of California Condor Recovery in Big Sur, California. In addition, PG&E regularly retrofits power structures that pose a threat to condors in the wild. Last year, PG&E spent approximately $4.2 million to remove an overhead powerline and bury it to provide permanent protection to condors in Big Sur.
PG&E's goal is to be the leading corporate citizen in the diverse communities they serve. Pacific Gas and Electric Company, incorporated in California in 1905, is one of the largest combination natural gas and electric utilities in the United States. They have supported Ventana Wildlife Society since 1988 for both Bald Eagle Restoration and California Condor Recovery work. In 2008, Ventana Wildlife Society awarded Pacific Gas and Electric Company its Environmental Excellence Award for their on-going contributions.

Blaze Engineering, Inc. formerly Blaze Construction, was created in 1985 and now operates with 25 employees and over $2 million in annual gross sales. Blaze Engineering, Inc. is committed to being a profitable company by delivering products and services of the highest quality in a timely manner. Blaze Engineering contributes time and money to VWS primarily in support of our condor recovery program in Big Sur.
Blaze Engineering, Inc. is committed to making a positive contribution wherever they may be seen or be involved, and to provide a support system for the community. This last point hits home for us at Ventana Wildlife Society when on November 30 2011 a wind storm felled a tree and killed wildlife biologist, Mike Tyner. Fortunately for us, Blaze Engineering had an operator and dozer during the storm and pushed out hundreds of felled trees from the road to bring our remaining staff to safety.
